The Reading Buccaneers Drum & Bugle Corps proudly presents its 2008 program, THE PURSUIT OF JOY. This year’s production is simply a celebration of drum corps and all the things that make it special – power, melody, color, speed, emotion and the sheer joy of entertaining. We also celebrate the accomplishments of our members, who are dedicated to excellence and performance and pursue both with incredible passion.
The pursuit begins with the beauty and lyricism of Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D, featuring the warm sounds of the hornline and the grace of the color guard. The tranquility of the Canon is shattered by David Holsinger's Abram's Pursuit. 
This piece has something for every drum corps fan - speed, power, aggression, volume and lots of great musicianship. We next explore the essence of emotion in drum corps with a rich and moving take on Giacomo Puccini's classic aria, Nessun Dorma. The pursuit concludes with selections from Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, including the timeless strains of "Ode to Joy." Look for some great solo work and a spirited percussion feature as every section of the corps shines in a build-up to a rousing, triumphant and emotional conclusion that will leave you wanting more.
